I have been really busy, so much that I haven't been able to post some cool things that have happened.

I'm not one of the most entertaining personalities in business, but even knowing that, Missevilkitty.org interviewed me. It was really fun, and I'm honored to be among so many talented women business owners. Read the Interview.

Whew!! These last couple of weeks have been crazy.
We moved from Utah to Indiana in a hurry, we finalized the details about the launch of the website, we opened herb + ginger last friday and the order have been coming in like crazy.
I couldn't be happier with the customer response, we have received many compliments on our products, service and the website design.

Our friends at Craft Revolution have organized a collection effort for Hurricane relief, please read below:

Now’s the time for the Indie Community to make a difference!

Hurricane Katrina slammed into the Gulf Coast earlier this week with devastating effects, forcing hundreds of thousands out of their homes and causing at least 68 deaths, including 55 in Mississippi. Rescue efforts are currently under way, with many victims trapped on rooftops and in flooded communities. The area is experiencing a shortage of food, a lack of drinking water and no power to homes that are still standing. The devastation is unbelievable.

We at Craft Revolution have been watching the news coverage together (online) with heavy hearts. We know full-well the power of the indie community to come together to support one of our own in need. Now is the time to mobilize that power and reach out to the victims of this horrific storm.

We have approached Etsy.com with a plan to offer donated indie items for sale on their website. Etsy has offered us shop space (http://craftrevolution.etsy.com) and to help us promote the event by mentioning the event in their blog and featuring some of the items from the shop.

All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund, which is providing hot meals to victims and rescue workers, as well as providing other much needed assistance such as shelter, medical needs and even therapy for victims. Our initial goal is to raise $1,000.

With hopes of forming an unprecedented partnership across the entire indie design community, we’ve contacted the major shopping websites for help in promoting the event in their newsletters, blogs, and on their websites. Tanya Sharma of MyCicy.com has already agreed to work with us, as has Leah Kramer from Craftster.

10 years ago today: August 26, 1995
I was working on my first real job. JC Penney in my country, Chile. I was the second youngest salesperson there, and probably at this time I was in the jewerly department and that sucked!! Now the biggest difference between Penneys there and here, is that there, they tried to be like a high scale department store, so the actual store was in the most expensive mall, that lasted just 2 or 3 years untill they filed for bankruptcy.

On those days my boyfriend was Alvaro, and he was in another city because of the army. I was sooooo in love with him, we talked on the phone every weekend and he wrote me every week, sometimes every day.

5 years ago today: August 26, 2000
I was here in the USA on vacation, because of my mom's wedding. I came with my grandma and we had a really great time. Besides that vacation, I wasn't living an amazing life, days before my trip another boyfriend and I broke up, so I was a little down and was a lot worse when my grandma decided to stay here, and not to come back with me to my country. Ohhh that was by far the worst year of my life!!!

I was drawing a lot, some comics, some illustrations. I was dreaming about opening a bed and breakfast, but a modern one. Also I was planning to start a business, that now, is almost a reality.
I was married for a year and 3 months, and I was living at my in-law's house, because they were out of the country.

yesterday: August 17, 2005
I finished some artwork for my website. I worked on planning my inventory for my business. I had a mistaken identity incident with some friends who were going to stop by. I spent 2 hours with an elderly lady who I visit every week.

tomorrow: August 19, 2005
We are helping an elderly lady (sort of an adopted grandma) to move from one care center to another, that's gonna be all day for sure.

We have been working on the website for our business with the wonderful Arianne from aeolidia . I'm dying to show the designs for the website, but I have to resist the temptation untill it is ready.
Something that I can show is our logo, that after months of rejecting my own ideas and designs, I finally came to an agreement with myself, and selected a winner:
